Middle School Matters
Why would you want to have such a wide range of ages all together in the same school?
Because it is better for our students.
“Research from analyzing 90,000 students in 500 schools over the last ten years has shown K-8 schools are superior!
Researchers found that students who remained in a K-8 school had a greater sense of belonging and more self-esteem, participated more in extracurricular activities, demonstrated greater leadership skills, and were less likely to be bullied.” – Diocese of Allentown.
By delaying the transition to a separate middle school, Immaculate Conception Academy students get more time to mature in an elementary school setting. These children have a sense of responsibility to be role models for younger students.
High Standards Start Early
At ICA, we prepare our students for the new responsibilities of Middle School, starting in 4th grade. Our teachers work closely together to ensure that students are held to the same standards and requirements for homework, time management, and note-taking skills.
Our students do not experience the jarring transition from elementary school to middle school that can happen when students move to a middle school only building.
The students that stay in a K-8th-grade private Catholic school do not “lose ground in both reading and math compared to their peers,” who attend a Middle School only building.
Have them spend a day at the Academy to experience the Immaculate Conception Academy difference!
